Messaging Policy
Effective August 25, 2026
What this covers
McCormick Family Dental(“we”, “the practice”) sends text messages to patients and to people who ask us to. This page explains what we send, how often, and how to stop.
How you opt in
You opt in by entering your mobile number on our appointment request form or our contact form — the same form, reached two ways — and ticking the box that begins “Text me.” The box is unchecked by default, and it is never required — the form sends either way, and your care does not depend on it.
You can also ask us in the office or on the phone, and we’ll add your number with your permission. We do not buy or rent phone number lists, and we do not text a number simply because it appeared somewhere in your record.
What we send
Three kinds of message, and nothing else:
- Appointment reminders and confirmations — when your visit is booked, and a reminder before it.
- Replies about scheduling — when you text us about moving, booking, or cancelling a visit, we text you back.
- Reminders when you’re due — a nudge when it’s time for a cleaning or a checkup.
What we don't send
We don’t discuss treatment, diagnoses, or anything clinical by text. Text is not a private channel — anyone holding your phone can read it — so those conversations happen on the phone or in the office. Please don’t send us health details by text; if it’s urgent or you’re in pain, call (903) 856-6688.
No marketing. No specials, no promotions, no announcements. The practice made that decision deliberately: if we text you, it is about an appointment of yours. Adding a promotional message later would need your permission again, separately.
We never share or sell your mobile number or your consent to any third party or affiliate for their own marketing. Numbers are shared only with the service providers who deliver the messages on our behalf, and only for that purpose.
How often
Message frequency varies — it depends on your appointments. Most patients get a few messages a month at most.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. That’s between you and your mobile carrier; the practice doesn’t charge for texts.
How to stop
Reply STOPto any message and we’ll stop texting that number. You’ll get one confirmation, then nothing. Reply START to turn it back on, or HELP for help. You can also call the office at (903) 856-6688 and we’ll take the number off.
Stopping texts does not affect your appointments or your care — we’ll reach you the way you prefer instead.
Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
