Emergency Dental Care

A broken tooth, a lost crown, or pain that isn't waiting until Monday. Call us — you'll get a real person.

What it is

Dental emergencies don't wait for office hours and they don't feel like something you should tough out. Pain that stops you sleeping or eating is a good enough reason to call.

The first goal is getting you out of pain. The proper repair can often come later, once you're comfortable and can actually think about it.

If you're not sure whether it counts as an emergency, call and ask. We'd much rather have that conversation than have you sitting at home wondering.

What happens when you come in

  1. Call firstSo we know you're coming and roughly what we're dealing with. It means we're ready when you arrive.
  2. Deal with the painBefore anything else. Nothing useful gets decided while it's still hurting.
  3. Find the causeA look and, usually, an image — pain often isn't coming from the tooth you think it is.
  4. Now and laterWhat we can do today, and what the proper repair looks like when you're ready for it.

This might be for you if

  • You've broken or knocked out a tooth
  • A crown or filling has come out
  • There's swelling in your face or gum
  • The pain is keeping you awake

None of this is a diagnosis — it’s just what tends to bring people in. If you’re not sure whether it applies to you, call and ask.

Questions people ask

What counts as an emergency?

Pain you can't manage, swelling, bleeding that won't stop, or a broken tooth. If you're weighing up whether to call, that's usually your answer.

What if it's after hours?

Call the office at (903) 856-6688 and follow the instructions on the message. Office hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

I knocked a tooth out — what do I do right now?

Handle it by the crown, not the root. Keep it moist — milk works, or your own saliva. Then call us straight away. Time matters a great deal here.

What it costs

We can’t put a number on this page honestly — it depends on your mouth and your plan. What we can tell you is how it works: we look first, we explain what we think you need, and you get the cost in writing before anything starts. We don’t begin work you haven’t agreed to, and we won’t pressure you into treatment you don’t need.

We're out of network with all insurances. We do file your claims as a courtesy, so the paperwork isn't left to you — but what your plan pays back is between you and them, and we won't guess at a number. Bring your plan and we'll tell you what we know before anything starts.

CareCredit and Sunbit are available if you’d rather spread the cost. If you’d like to ask before you come in, call (903) 856-6688.

Ready when you are

We’ll greet you by name, explain things clearly, and never rush you.
