Cosmetic Bonding
A chip, a gap, or an edge that catches your eye every single time you smile. Often it's one visit and it's done.
What it is
Bonding uses tooth-coloured material shaped directly onto the tooth and set hard, matched to the shade of the teeth around it.
It's the straightforward answer for small things — a chipped edge, a worn corner, a gap that's always bothered you. Usually no drilling and often no numbing.
For bigger changes there are other routes, and we'll say so rather than talking you into the one we can do this afternoon.
What happens when you come in

- Shape it onBuilt up directly on the tooth and adjusted while you watch.
- Set and polishHardened with a light, then polished so it catches the light like the rest of your teeth.
- Check the biteEspecially on a front edge — it has to work when you close, not just look right.

Questions people ask
How long does it take?
Small repairs are often a single visit — we look, we shape the material to the tooth, we set it and polish it, and you leave with it done. More than one tooth, or a larger repair, may take longer; we'll tell you which before we start.
Will it stain?
The material can pick up colour over time, more so with coffee, tea and tobacco. It can be polished, and it can be replaced.
Is bonding right for me, or do I need something else?
Depends on the tooth and what's bothering you about it. Come and ask — we'll tell you if bonding isn't the right answer.
What it costs
We can’t put a number on this page honestly — it depends on your mouth and your plan. What we can tell you is how it works: we look first, we explain what we think you need, and you get the cost in writing before anything starts. We don’t begin work you haven’t agreed to, and we won’t pressure you into treatment you don’t need.
We're out of network with all insurances. We do file your claims as a courtesy, so the paperwork isn't left to you — but what your plan pays back is between you and them, and we won't guess at a number. Bring your plan and we'll tell you what we know before anything starts.
